Guitars Without Borders

Guitars without Borders is a program supported by the Stanislaus Arts Council in collaboration with the CSU Stanislaus Department of Music. Guitars Without Borders establishes and supports an international student exchange program for guitar students at California State University, Stanislaus, making it easier for foreign and domestic students to participate in, and contribute to, the vibrant musical community in the Central Valley. This annual grant will support travel, lodging, and course fees up to $2500. Program activities will be coordinated by the CSU Stanislaus guitar department and may include stage performance, master classes with visiting scholars, and participation in the annual Guitarraganza music festival.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be guitar students, 18 years or older, and actively enrolled in a college or university.  Participants must be in good academic standing, and able to travel abroad without restrictions. Grant recipients will be selected based on their performance by a panel consisting of Dr. David Chapman, Chair of CSU Stanislaus Guitar Department,  Roan Holmes, the founder of Guitar Without Borders, and a rotating faculty member from CSU Stanislaus Music Department.
