Stanislaus Arts Council Awarded $62,959 in State-Local Partnership Grant from the California Arts Council

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MODESTO, CA – The Stanislaus Arts Council is thrilled to announce that we have been selected as a grant recipient in the California Arts Council’s (CAC) 2024-25 State-Local Partnership program, securing $62,959 in funding to directly support our operations. This investment strengthens our ability to advocate for and uplift the local arts community, ensuring that arts and culture continue to thrive in Stanislaus County.

The CAC recently awarded nearly $19.5 million in grants across California, marking a historic milestone as all 58 counties receive funding to support local arts administration for the first time since the State-Local Partnership program’s inception in 1980. The Stanislaus Arts Council is honored to be part of this transformative initiative, reinforcing our commitment to serving artists, cultural organizations, and creative initiatives throughout the region.

"This funding is a significant step forward for the arts in Stanislaus County," said Dominique Johnson, Executive Director of the Stanislaus Arts Council. "With this support, we can expand our efforts to connect, promote, and advocate for the local arts community, ensuring that the arts have the resources they need to flourish. We are grateful to the California Arts Council for recognizing the importance of regional arts leadership and investing in the cultural vitality of our county."

As the designated local arts agency for Stanislaus County, the Stanislaus Arts Council plays a pivotal role in advocating for the arts, developing creative spaces, and fostering collaborations that enhance cultural experiences for residents and visitors alike. This grant will allow us to strengthen our operational foundation, expand outreach efforts, and support initiatives that amplify the voices of local artists and arts organizations.

The California Arts Council’s State-Local Partnership grant is designed to empower county-designated arts agencies to provide vital resources, technical assistance, and advocacy to local creative communities. This investment aligns with the CAC’s commitment to ensuring geographic equity, increasing funding accessibility, and supporting sustainable arts ecosystems across the state.

The Stanislaus Arts Council invites local artists, organizations, and community members to join us in shaping the future of the arts in our region. We encourage collaboration and collective advocacy to ensure that arts and culture remain an essential part of life in Stanislaus County.
