Eligibility Requirements

The Stanislaus Arts Council encourages applications from Stanislaus County residents engaged in various artistic disciplines, including dance, drama, literary arts, music, new media, and visual arts. Temporary public art projects, projects designed for SAC's programs or events, and collaborative proposals are all eligible. Check the eligibility criteria in the Grant Guidelines for a comprehensive understanding.

Notable Points:

  • Adults (18 and older) are eligible; minors can participate in collaborative projects.

  • Grantees may receive awards for two consecutive years, with a one-year waiting period for reapplication.

  • Non-residents and for-profit/corporate businesses are not eligible.

  • Proposals must be for new creations or projects.

Grant Application Review Process

A comprehensive review process ensures fairness and transparency. Applications will be evaluated based on artistic/educational excellence, community impact, and the ability to fulfill the proposed project. Reviewers will score applications, and the SAC will award funds to those with the highest overall scores. Learn more about the evaluation criteria and review process in the Grant Guidelines.

Grant Award & Responsibilities

Successful grantees will have their Grant Award managed by Stanislaus Arts Council staff. Grant awards, typically paid in full at the project's start, come with certain responsibilities. Grantees must acknowledge SAC support in all promotional materials, submit project updates, and complete the project within one year. Learn about the specific responsibilities and timeline associated with the grant award in the Grant Guidelines.
